SEOUL, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's household lending rate hit a six-month low last month on the near-record-low policy rate, central bank data showed Friday.

Rate for household loans extended by banks averaged an annualized rate of 3.66 percent in August, down 0.07 percentage points from a month earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK). It was the lowest since February.

The decline came as the BOK refrained from altering the policy rate since the bank raised it to the current rate of 1.50 percent in November last year from an all-time low of 1.25 percent.

Rate for mortgage loans dipped 0.08 percentage points over the month to 3.36 percent, the lowest since October last year. The figure for credit loan declined 0.09 percentage points to 4.47 percent.

Corporate lending rate shed 0.02 percentage points to 3.62 percent. The figure for loans to big companies lost 0.02 percentage points to 3.25 percent, with the figure for loans to small firms slipping 0.03 percentage points to 3.83 percent.
