BERLIN, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The coming weeks couldn't be more challenging for Borussia Dortmund as Swiss coach Lucien Favre faces "weeks of truth".

The Bundesliga's weekend top act against league leader Borussia Moenchengladbach Saturday evening will reel off a series of seven games in 21 days including two against Inter in the Champions League.

Having to catch up on the national league, the Blacks and Yellows' coach has to deal with a somewhat unexpected problem as his attackers seem to have lost their power.

Aside from injured spearhead Paco Alcacer, Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho, Thorgan Hazard, Mario Goetze, and Julian Brandt perform far from their best.

Some blame Favre's tactics for the team's malaise, and demand to return to a more forwarding style.

"Our ball-possession periods are ok, but have been without any danger to our opponents lately," said Reus. Michael Zorc complained that "our front line wasn't existing in Freiburg."

Dortmund's attackers might have delivered the second-highest number of goals (19), but the team also suffered from an unstable defense having conceived 11 goals in seven games.

Dortmund might have dropped back to the eight in the tableau but is only four points away from the leagues' top.

Favre is showing determination by demanding a victory. "We intend to compete for the upmost," the 61-year-old said.

However, statistics speak for Dortmund as the side won all previous five home games against Moenchengladbach.

And the current problems appear like "fly droppings," the former BVB coach Juergen Klopp said.
