PRAGUE, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Czech government anti-drug policy coordinator Jarmila Vedralova was suspected of plagiarism in two of her theses written in 2001 and 2005, according to local media reports on Tuesday.

Opposition party Pirates submitted an initiative to examine both works by Vedralova, claiming that one third of her bachelor's and master's theses contained identical contents with other sources, said news report on Seznam.com, a portal website.

Examination of her theses using plagiarism detection programs has shown a large number of matches -- in both works it is up to a third of the text, it claimed.

The first thesis about the epidemiology of sexually transmitted infections, which she wrote at the Charles University, was found 31 percent of similarity and the second thesis about health management program for her master's degree, was found 36 percent identical with other documents.

Veralova didn't give explanation of the similarity.

Vedralova was appointed as anti-drug policy coordinator in August 2018, when her predecessor Jindrich Voboril left the post for personal reasons.

Last year, plagiarism allegations forced two government ministers -- minister of justice Tatana Mala, and minister of labor and social affairs Petr Krcal -- to step down, respectively.
