HANGZHOU, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The 19th Asian Games will be held from September 10-25, 2022, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) announced on Monday.

Also released was the updated list of events. Three new events, including the Olympic event equestrian, were added to the initial list of 34 announced at the 36th plenary meeting of Olympic Council Of Asia in 2017.

The HAGOC will next finalize the list of events with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC).

On February 21, the Paris 2024 Olympic Organizing Committee proposed new Olympic events including hip-hop dance, competitive rock climbing, surfing, and skateboarding. These events will also be given consideration together with new events proposed by OCA before the HAGOC finalizes the events for Hangzhou 2022.
