CHENGDU, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The Central South University dominated the just-ended 21st CUBA Southwest Division finals to win both men's and women's showdown on Thursday.

The Central South University men's basketball team made their seventh appearance in the Division final in eight years and clinched their sixth straight Southwest Division title by beating the Hubei University of Technology 92-53. In women's final, the Central South University held off Huazhong University of Science and Technology 82-81.

Central South University starting guard Zhang Zhanyu won the Finals MVP. With season average 10.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 steals, Zhang is one of the most successful point guard within three years.

After the final game, Zhang Zhanyu's CUBA career total assists reached 260, ranking the top among all active players and only second to the legendary Huaqiao University guard "Black Whirlwind" Guganeswaran.

In women's basketball, Fang Min, also a Central South University player, won the MVP.
