BUDAPEST, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- The experts from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) and the Poli-Farbe company presented here on Tuesday a special wall paint that can help heat up a small home.

According to the developers, the special conductive paint is able to heat up a designated area without significant loss of time and heat. It works as an additional heating, as a surface of about 6 square meters is enough to temper a flat of 60-70 square meters with a capacity of 500-550 watts per square meter.

"With this development, the ecological footprint of the home can be significantly reduced, even more so if combined with cost-effective construction materials," said the developer.

Dr. Gabor Magyar, head of the Department of Telecommunications and Media Informatics at BME, said "More and more houses and apartments have their own energy production, such as solar panels, and more items will be available in the future."

The development is under a cooperation agreement signed in May between Poli-Farbe and the BME. The paint is expected to be put on the market within a year, according to the developer.
